For 2025, to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Hanoverian Royal Arms design from 1825, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Royal Arms Half Sovereign Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM First Strike with special NFC Anti-Counterfeiting Technology.
Each of the 22 Carat Gold Proof Sovereigns features the Royal Arms designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen, together with the Portrait of His Majesty, King Charles III, by Martin Jennings on the obverse.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
