For 2022, to commemorate the Memorial of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Memorial Royal Arms Half Sovereign Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold featuring the new portrait of King Charles III, Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM with special NFC Anti-Counterfeiting Technology.
Each of the 22 Carat Gold Proof Sovereigns features on the reverse a special Royal Arms designed by Jody Clark to commemorate the Memorial of Queen Elizabeth II, together with the First Portrait of His Majesty, King Charles III by Martin Jennings on the obverse.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
