In 2014-I, for the first time in history, the Royal Mint, in conjunction with MMTC-PAMP, was granted by the Indian Government to strike a Limited Issue St George and the Dragon Gold Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold with a special Mint Mark "I" for India.
The solid 22 Carat Gold Half Sovereign Coin is presented in a bright red display Security Mint Card Certificate of Authenticity, which symbolises good fortune and power in Indian culture.
Struck to Royal Mint's immaculate Bullion Uncirculated quality and depicts on the reverse Pistrucci's St George Slaying the Dragon, while the obverse features the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
