In 2012, to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Diamond Jubilee Gold Proof Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.
The new reverse design of the 2012 Half Sovereign depicts a Modern St George and the Dragon, which has been designed by Paul Day, while the obverse has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty, The Queen, by Ian Rank Broadley FRBS on the obverse.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
