In 2005, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Gold Proof Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM and featuring a new portrayal of St George and The Dragon.
Created by Timothy Noad, this modern interpretation of the centuries-old story depicts St George locked in combat with The Dragon.
The obverse is the stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
