In 1937 to celebrate the Coronation of King George VI, the Royal Mint released a special St George and the Dragon Gold Proof Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR66+ CAM.

The reverse design depicts Pistrucci's St George Slaying the Dragon while the obverse has the Bare Head portrait of King George VI.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks
