1817 King George III Crowned Shield Gold Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as MS63.

The reverse depicts a Crowned Shield while the obverse has the Laur Head portrait of George III.
In 1817 after the Royal Mint had moved from the Tower of London to a site on Tower Hill full production got under way and coinage changed from the old Guinea to the Sovereign.
